Attacus Atlas

To the left is a picture of the Atlas Moth, Attacus Atlas, the largest moth in the world, with a wingspan of up to 30 cms. This moth is relatively easy to care for and deatails of the care of this moth and others are displayed throughout the site.

Livestock can be obtained from many specialist invertebrate breeders, such as www.wwb.co.uk . Moths can be bought as eggs, caterpillars, pupae or adults.

Reccomended species for beginners include Actias Luna and Actias Selene, the Moon moths.

Below: Acherontia Lachesis, a vibrant Death's Head Moth from Asia, closely related to Acherontia Styx and Atropos.

Given the proper care and attention, moths can make brilliant "pets." But always remember that it is important to research the needs of the particular species of moth that you wish to keep before acquiring your specimens, as each species has its own special requirements
